Training of Staff

We're only as good as our employees

We believe our training is the best in Hawaii. We challenge our staff to ensure they get the “Why?” they have been chosen to work with us. Here’s some of the things we cover during initial training. (each island and location will vary)

The "Aloha StayTM"

All new staff members go through our Hawaiian Hospitality training program called the “Aloha Stay.” Our founder, Jon Ka’aihue designed this training specifically for the Hawaii hospitality market so that our employees have an understanding of their place and being. An example of this is shown in our Day 1 new hire training, “Ahupua ‘a (Land Division) Training.” HPS believes in educating our staff of the area so they gain a greater respect and knowledge unique to that specific property. After 2 weeks of more extensive training, each employee leaves with a greater respect for the property in which they serve and also a more confident step during their day to day duties.

Valet Service Training

To be a great Valet Attendant or Bell Attendant there’s more to the job than just being quick on your feet. There’s proper etiquette from grooming standards, greeting guest, opening doors, closing doors, directing traffic, etc. There’s also common mistakes that our trainers have experienced that are shared during in class training and out in the field. In order to groom the best valet staff in the industry, you need the best trainers, and we do.
